CFB 27 dynasty trackingBy Steve Brooks

How to Track a CFB 27 Dynasty

Quick answer: record every game result each week, a one-line summary and full player stats each season, and every recruiting class and award each offseason. A spreadsheet with one tab per record type works and costs nothing.

Career totals and school records should be formulas over the season rows, not numbers you type. If the typing becomes the part you dread, a dynasty tracker can read your screenshots, menu video or PC save and keep season history and a record book for you.

This guide gives you the full layout first, with column names you can copy into Google Sheets or Excel today. The last sections cover where spreadsheets break down and what Dynasty Central automates.

What to record and when

Most of what makes a dynasty worth looking back on disappears if you do not write it down at the right moment. Split the work by when the data is available.

Every week

RecordWhy it matters
Opponent, home or away, final scoreThe base of every head-to-head record and rivalry streak
Your rank and the opponent's rankLets you count ranked wins and upsets later
Box score leaders (passing, rushing, receiving, tackles)Single-game records come from these rows
Notable moments: overtime, comebacks, injuries to startersThe context a score alone does not keep

Every season

RecordWhy it matters
Overall and conference record, final rankingOne row per season becomes your program history
Conference title result, bowl or playoff resultThe headline of each year
Full season stats for every player who playedCareer totals need every season, and seniors leave the roster after the year
Award winners, All-American and All-Conference picksYour Heisman count and award history
Head coach and coordinatorsCoaching tenures and records by coach

Every offseason

RecordWhy it matters
Departures: graduation, draft entry, transfer portalExplains where players went and closes their career row
Signed recruiting class with stars and class rankLets you grade classes once those players have played
Transfer portal additionsSeparates portal pickups from players you developed
Coaching changesHires, firings and coordinators poached by other schools

A record-book spreadsheet layout

Use a separate tab for each record type; the table below says what each row represents. Give every player a stable key, such as name plus recruiting class year ("Jalen Price 2027"), so rows on different tabs can be matched even when two players share a name. Type each fact once; build totals and records with SUMIFS, MAXIFS and pivot tables.

Formulas for career totals, records and head-to-head

  • Career totals. A SUMIFS over Player Season Stats by Player Key. Never type a career total by hand.
  • Season records. MAXIFS over Player Season Stats for each stat column, then look up the holder.
  • Single-game records. Add a Player Game Stats tab with Season, Week, Opponent, Player Key and the same numeric stat columns as Player Season Stats, then run MAXIFS over it. The Top Performer note on Schedule & Results cannot calculate records on its own.
  • Head-to-head. COUNTIFS on Schedule & Results by Opponent and Result.
  • Class grades. Match Recruiting Classes to Player Season Stats by Player Key to compare each signee's games played and production.

Extra tabs for an online dynasty

An online league needs a shared copy, one owner who edits, and a few tabs a solo dynasty does not.

Sync Log

One row per

Habits that keep a league sheet usable

  • Pick one person to enter results, or give each member a form that writes to the sheet, so two people never edit the same row.
  • Enter results before the advance, not after. The Sync Log tells you who is still missing.
  • Protect formula columns so a member cannot overwrite them by accident.

What CFB 26 kept in the game

Check the in-game screens before you build anything, because some of the record book may already exist. In its College Football 26 Dynasty deep dive on ea.com, EA described College Football History in the Stats & Records tab of the Dynasty Hub. It lists national champions back to 1869, conference champions back to 1896 and winners of 21 individual player and coach awards, and it adds your dynasty's champions and award winners for up to 30 seasons. EA also described a Trophy Room for rivalry, bowl, conference and national titles and individual awards, an Awards view on each player card, and a notice when one of your players breaks a single-game, season or career record.

Those features were documented for CFB 26, and we have not verified how they work in CFB 27, so look in the same menus there. As EA described them, none of those screens is a file you can export, sort or share, and none keeps full stat lines for players after they leave your roster. That is the gap a spreadsheet or tracker fills.

Where a spreadsheet breaks

Typing. A season of box scores and roster stats is a lot of manual entry, and it lands at the busiest point of the dynasty, right before the offseason starts.

Graduating players. Seniors drop off your roster, and their stats go with them. If you do not copy a senior's final season before you advance through the offseason, their career line has a hole in it.

Formulas break. One sorted column, a renamed player key or a pasted-over formula can quietly corrupt career totals, and you may not notice for several seasons.

Leagues drift. With several members, results come in late, people edit the wrong copy and the standings stop matching the game.

Do it faster with Dynasty Central

Dynasty Central imports supported game data and keeps season history and a record book from it. You add data from the game, review it and the record book updates. Keep a spreadsheet for custom records beyond what the tracker supports, such as a Hall of Fame.

Ways to get data in

  • Screenshots. Upload photos or captures of game screens. AI reads the numbers, and you review and correct them before anything is saved.
  • Menu video. Record a video scrolling through the menus and upload it instead of taking dozens of screenshots.
  • CFB 27 PC save upload. Offline dynasties on PC can upload the save file. It is read-only, so your save is never changed. Online dynasties have no local save, so league members import with screenshots or video.

What it keeps

  • Season history and a record book that carry across seasons.
  • Free online league tools. Standings and stat leaders, a readiness board that shows which teams have imported their roster and this week's result, a member-voted weekly power poll, and advance week or season controls for the commissioner. Advancing moves the league's week in Dynasty Central, not the EA game.
  • Discord posts of standings, scores and power poll results, on demand or automatically on advance, so members do not have to open another site to see where things stand.

Free, Plus and Dynasty Live

PlanWhat you get
Free2 solo (offline) dynasties for up to 5 seasons each, unlimited online league teams, 10 screenshot imports and 1 video import a month. PC save import has no plan gate.
Plus ($4.99/month)Unlimited dynasties, seasons and screenshot imports, 5 video imports a month, player projections (peak overall, ability odds, skill caps, NIL price check) and CSV export
Dynasty Live ($24.99/month)Everything in Plus, unlimited video imports, and a weekly AI podcast, newspaper, press conferences and call-in radio show

If you would rather keep the spreadsheet, Plus can export your data to CSV so you can paste it into the layout above.

Frequently Asked Questions

What dynasty history features did EA document for CFB 26?

In its College Football 26 Dynasty deep dive, EA described College Football History in the Stats & Records tab of the Dynasty Hub, with national and conference champions and award winners that grow for up to 30 seasons of your dynasty, plus a Trophy Room and player-card award history. We have not verified how these features work in CFB 27. As EA described them, the screens cannot be exported and do not keep full stat lines for players who have left your roster, so many players keep their own record book alongside them.

What is the best way to keep career stats after players graduate?

Save each player's full season stats at the end of every season, before you advance into the offseason, and store one row per player per season. Career totals are then a sum of those rows. A tracker that imports end-of-season stats does the same thing without the typing.

Should I use a spreadsheet or an app to track my dynasty?

A spreadsheet is free and fully flexible, and it works well for a solo dynasty if you keep up with entry. An app makes sense when typing is the bottleneck, when you run an online league with several members, or when you want screenshots or a save file read for you.

Can I import screenshots instead of typing stats?

Yes, with Dynasty Central. Upload screenshots of game screens, AI reads them, and you review the results before they are saved. You can also upload a menu video, and offline PC players can upload a CFB 27 save file, which is read-only. Online dynasties have no local save, so league members use screenshots or video.

How do I keep a record book for an online dynasty?

Add League Standings, Power Poll, Head-to-Head and Sync Log tabs to the solo layout, keep one shared copy with one editor, and enter results before each advance. Dynasty Central runs online leagues for free with standings, a readiness board that shows which teams have imported their roster and this week's result, a member-voted power poll, league week controls and Discord posts of results.

What columns should a dynasty season history tab have?

Season, team, head coach, overall and conference wins and losses, preseason and final rank, conference finish, conference title game result, bowl or playoff result, recruiting class rank and notes.
